Holiday Cheer for Seniors in Need

Fall is finally here and with that starts the holiday season.  For many, this is a sad and lonely time of year - more so than other times since so many celebrations happen around them. As we all know, there are many seniors who have no visitors and feel very alone.  

This holiday season we wish to bring a little holiday cheer to some of our seniors in need. We will be assembling 30 filled stockings and present them to St Vincent dePaul. Every stocking will be filled with an assortment of items - some needed, some for enjoyment and some for a yummy treat.  We will add handwritten notes to each stocking sharing the joy of the season with each recipient, too.

Here is our need list.  Please email us with the "letter(s) below" that you would like to donate. All items need to be able to be used separately, for example: we cannot use a packet of 5 items together as we would have to open them and separate them into each stocking, losing their cover/packaging. Many of these items can be found at a dollar store.  We will be making 20 womens stockings and 10 mens.

Our 2018 Easter Baskets for Love project is complete!

Our 2018 Easter Baskets for Love project is complete!  We delivered 50 filled baskets and 100 bunny ears to the Atlanta Children's Shelter (acsatl.org).  Project Founder, Kathryn Gale was thanked by ACS Representative Billie Walker who was not only grateful, but impressed!

We are so thankful for the continued support throughout the years of our projects.  we'd especially like to thank those who helped with this one.  We had helpers as young as 5 who helped assemble the baskets. Thank you Kate, Cara and Sammy!

Greetings!  I hope your New Year started out well and healthy!  As we start our eighth year together, our project team continues to grow.  We seek the needs in our area and try to help provide a little joy for those we serve.

Holiday Thanks and Blessings!

A big thank you to everyone who supported the be4good project holiday gifting.  We created 14 full stockings for children, 7 separate gifts for their holiday bazaar, and 12 senior stockings.   The childrens' stockings  and gifts were dropped off at the Atlanta Children's Shelter on Wednesday.

Hopping over to Summer

Year Seven - Easter Baskets for Love Moves Forward

Our group has put together a lot of Easter Baskets throughout the years.  This year will be out 7th and we are so happy to be able to continue this project.

We will be making 60 baskets this year for the Atlanta Children's Shelter (acsatl.org). The Atlanta Children’s Shelter was established in 1986 by members of the Junior League of Atlanta in response to the growing number of homeless families with young children in the Metro Atlanta area.  Initially, ACS was established as a centrally located childcare facility where homeless parents could bring their children while they searched for employment opportunities within the community.  In 1996, the Atlanta Children's Shelter made the decision to dramatically overhaul its entire service model in an effort to become more responsive to the unique needs and barriers of homeless families.  In addition to an evolved service model, the Atlanta Children's Shelter also received a new home thank to the very generous donation of the North Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Since its inception, the Atlanta Children’s Shelter has successfully assisted in stabilizing nearly 5,000 homeless families and over 8,000 homeless children by transitioning homeless families into stable housing and sustainable employment.
